Hercules Bayfront
Endorsed by Greenbelt Alliance 2008
Hercules, CA
Project: Opticos is currently in the
process of designing one of the few large waterfront properties
left in the Bay Area. The goal is to provide the vibrant, mixed-use
downtown that the Central Hercules Plan has envisioned since
2001. The project ties into adjacent New Urbanist neighborhoods
that have already been built. The project will include a new
Amtrak station along the Capital Corridor line and possibly
a new ferry terminal.
Program: The site is 37 acres and
will include 1300 residential units, approximately 50,000 square
feet of ground floor retail and commercial, an Amtrak station,
a potential ferry terminal linking to San Francisco, several
public buildings, and connections to the regional Bay Trail.
The project integrates Best Management Practices in storm water treatment
and integrates and reinforces existing, sensitive habitats
within the public space framework.
Client: Anderson Pacific, LLC
