Livermore Planning and Zoning Code Update
Livermore, California

This project illustrates the way in which Form-Based Codes can successfully replace existing citywide development codes. The Livermore Form-Based Code created a new structure for planning in the City and reinforced the City’s smart growth policies. One of the ongoing goals of the code is to accommodate and guide development that sustains the existing character of Livermore and allows for its continual evolution through high-quality, compact projects. This project was partially funded by a CalTrans Community-Based Transportation Planning Grant.
