Cabral Station Square
Stockton, California
Project: The renovation of the historic Southern Pacific station in downtown Stockton by the San Joaquin Regional Rail Commission (SJRRC) has planted a seed for the revitalization of the adjacent neighborhood. As part of the continued efforts, the SJRRC decided to prioritize the implementation of a prominent civic space in front of the station that was part of a master plan by Opticos. This square would improve their presence within the community and symbolize their civic commitment to and role within the neighborhood and the city.
Program: Opticos Design, Inc. was retained by the San Joaquin Regional Rail Commission to complete phase I site improvements based on their successful master plan. Site improvements included a 10,000 sf park space, an on site pavilion for local commercial entrepreneurs, and a signature clock tower. Opticos collaborated with Kimley-Horn and Associates to produce construction drawings.
Project has approval from the City and is in the construction documents phase.
Client: The San Joaquin Regional Rail Commission
