Daniel Parolek to speak at APA CA Session: Form-Based Codes and Zoning Reform: Tools to Get Your Community to SB 375 Attainment and Walkable, Mixed Use Development

Form-Based Coding is being taken to scale. It is protecting the character of a small mountain town in the Tehachapi General Plan update, providing a framework for preservation and walkability in zoning code updates for cities such as Grass Valley and Livermore, and creating a framework for the evolution and protection of Paso Robles’ historic town center. This panel will examine the flexibility and utility of Form-Based Coding as an effective and much-needed zoning reform tool that levels the regulatory playing field for walkable urbanism and helps local agencies to address SB 375 objectives. How are agencies across the state using Form-Based Codes to reform their zoning? What common mistakes should they – and you – avoid? Come join the conversation in a panel discussion session.

Speakers:
Daniel Parolek
Judy Corbett
Stefanos Polyzoides
New addition: Julia Lave Johnston
